Rat traps and poisons are found in every body’s pantry baskets these days. Well prevention is better than cure of losses and especially when such losses cannot be insured!!

Sighting a rat at a working or residential place creates panic. Rat zappers, poisons, ultrasonic rat deterrents, etc. are brought to treat the rat at the place. These reflex actions are not due to fear from rats but from the loss and destruction they cause.

Rodents are claimed to be the most destructive pests. Rats and mice are the two that are commonly located in houses as well as work place. The question arises, why is there a call for effective ways of destruction of rats? The reasons are stated below:

  1. Rats feed themselves 15-20 times a day, consuming food which 10-15% of their body weight. So they chew on just about anything that is seen useful anywhere. This could be wood, paper, cloth, books, etc.
  2. A mouse will gnaw on furniture or seats of cars to create a hidden nest.
  3. Insulation is neither safe from mice. They love to chew insulations in order to keep their teeth sharp. This has been a probable cause and threat of fire.
  4. Rat defecate more than 50 times a day. Their dropping not only stinks and creates an unhygienic environment but also invites in other rodents across the place.
  1. Mice will even build their nests in large electrical appliances and chew off the roof tops, thereby causing structural damages.
  1. Rats can cause financial loss by simply gnawing on important documents, precious paintings, carpets, appliances, etc. Often workplaces have experienced employees working overtime due to destructions by rats.
  1. Rats can be a great threat to your pets and children. Facts reflect that rats can be a threat to life especially of the pets.
  1. Rats cause infectious diseases like Leptospirosis, which can result in fever, joint pains and even death in cases of multiple organ failure.

Rats and mice can cause huge losses and therefore, destruction of mice at the foremost place they are noticed is quintessential. Getting rid of rodents can be a challenging task as it is hard to locate them, to begin with. Some of the options to treat rats are as follows:

  • Use traps to catch rats
  • Use poison to kill rats
  • Close all openings & take away shelter
  • Use natural, kill-free alternatives

The above methods can be carried on but cannot guarantee cent percent results. Thus, the wiser way is to spend a few bucks in order to save many in future.
