A French chemist devised the laminated glass in 1903. The flask was previously coated with cellulose nitrate and Polyvinyl Butyral - a kind of liquid plastic which scattering when chilled. After the chemist inadvertently dropped the container, it broke but didn't shatter as a result of plastic coating. The chemist's title was Edouard Benedictus.

It took at least another 20 years before the auto industry started to use laminated glass into their vehicles. From 1939, the Ford motor company had embraced laminated glass to be used on its assembly lines. A firm called British Indestructo Glass Limited was fabricating the glass to get Ford Engine Company at that moment. They had been producing the glass in Dagenham England.

Following the glass and center layer of plastic are glued together, big press pliers then push out any air bubbles trapped between the layers of the glass. The last phase of this method requires dipping the windshields to a heated, pressurized acrylic tub.

Among the most notable unique properties of the sort of glass is a simple fact that it stays together when shattered. Upon impact, the glass breaks, but the Eval and vinyl coating retains the glass jump together. This attribute makes laminated glass a fantastic shield against storm damage, and it has lots of different programs in the home also. When a window made from regular glass breaks, then the flooring is going to be soon littered with sharp shards of glass, creating a dangerous situation. If the window is constructed from laminated glass, then it is going to remain together after breaking, preventing accidental cuts and accidents.
