Xbox server issues affecting Sign-in, purchasing & updates

Posted by Angelsmith on August 21st, 2017

Xbox Live users are having trouble accessing important parts of the service, including sign-in and product purchases, according to reports Microsoft’s own status pages.

Microsoft’s status page refers to “limited” access to Xbox Live “basic services” in addition to signing in, creating an account or recovering and purchasing, changing codes and downloading items. The issue affects all platforms such as Xbox 360, Xbox One & Xbox game console.

The launching date of any major game is a bad time for an online game service to drop and it is possible for Microsoft to deal with an increased server load due to the arrival of Mass Effect: Andromeda.

The following are some of the Xbox game console issues:

•    Xbox Live status
•    Xbox Sign-in
•    Xbox Game updates
•    Purchasing new games
•    Installing new games
•    Wi-Fi connectivity
•    Unexpected shutdown
•    Freezing/Crashing
•    Disc drive making sound
•    Won’t power on
•    Audio not working properly

Our engineers and developers are actively working hard to solve the problem, causing some members to find purchased content or buying a new one. Please read on the status page. The problem is not limited to Xbox. Microsoft account users encounter “extensive problems” across multiple services, including Outlook, Skype, OneDrive, and Windows Store.

We’ll keep you update with the fixes for Xbox Sign-in, purchasing new games and updating details.
