Neymar ‘200 per cent’ staying at Barcelona

Barcelona vice-president JordiMestre insists Neymar will be staying at the club, despite Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in the Brazil international.

Sky sources understand PSG have held talks with Barca about signing the 25-year-old but the La Liga giants are determined to keep one of their most important players.

When asked during a press conference on Tuesday whether Neymar would remain at Barcelona next season, Mestre replied: “200 per cent”.

Spanish reports have suggested PSG are looking to entice the Brazil international to the Parc des Princes after snapping up Neymar’s international team-mate DaniAlves on a free transfer.

Daniel Sturridge in ‘best condition’ – JurgenKlopp

Liverpool manager JurgenKlopp says striker Daniel Sturridge is in the “best condition” he has been in during Klopp’s time at the club.

Injuries have limited 27-year-old Sturridge to 46 league appearances in the past three seasons.

“He is in good physical shape, absolutely,” said Klopp, who took over at Anfield in October 2015.

“Daniel could be part of the full pre-season so far so that’s very important. It’s looking good.”

He added: “[Pre-season] was quite intense, especially in England. He was part of pretty much each session so it’s good.”

Liverpool have been linked with RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita but Klopp would not be drawn on any move for the 22-year-old Guinea international.

“Nothing new to say about this,” said the German.

“I cannot clarify anything. It’s like it is, it’s the transfer market – everything is open until 31 August.”

Liverpool release new 2017/18 third kit

Liverpool have unveiled their new third kit for the 2017/18 season in Hong Kong – the first stop of the Reds’ pre-season tour.

Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and James Milner have been pictured in the new design, which has been made by New Balance.

The third kit will be debuted during Liverpool’s Premier League Asia Trophy game against Crystal Palace, which is live on Sky Sports on Wednesday from 1.30pm.

The kit continues with the theme of celebrating iconic periods from Liverpool’s 125-year history.

It takes its design inspiration from the original wooden signage of the famous Kop stand, featuring a ‘Bold Citrus’ and black colourway.

Launched as part of the ‘Pure Liverpool FC’ campaign for the 2017/18 season, the kit celebrates the club’s 125th anniversary and features the special 125th anniversary crest – a unique feature of all the New Balance kits for the 2017/18 season.

To commemorate the tragic events of Hillsborough, the 96 emblem, encased by the eternal flames sits at the nape of the neck. The jersey also features a debossed ‘125’ to the shoulder seam tape and is framed by a black collar and trim, and is completed by Bold Citrus shorts and Bold Citrus socks with a black trim.

The goalkeeper kit features a Toxic Green design with black crest, sponsor and NB branding with a tonal three colour sleeve pattern.

Lallana said: “Scoring in front of the Kop is the best feeling in the world. It’s a special place for the whole LFC family so it’s brilliant to see a kit inspired by it.

“It definitely stands out, I like it and will be a nice reminder of the Kop every time we wear it.”
