Setting a date is equally important. For a new event, you should start your preparation 4 to 6 months before the event.

5) Marketing the event  – One of the major steps of planning an event is promotion and publicity. Without marketing the event properly, you won’t get the desired results. So, you have to come up with an exciting theme or campaign so that people are excited enough to attendthe event. Marketing can be done through traditional media, online aggregators, word of mouth and social media channels. You can also partner with other organizations or sponsors to spread the word about your event further. Creating banners, invitation card has become important part of event management.

6) Getting feedback  – Taking feedback will help you determine what worked and what did not and help you plan for any future events.
