Types of Press Brake

Press brake is a necessary equipment in any metal fabrication workshop. It allows you to bend the metal in a multitude of ways. At the our customer Mr Raju's metal processing workshop in Chennai India, there are three press brakes made by GLDMA. One is a large 400-ton machine with a 4000mm length, one is 150 ton CNC with 3200mm length and the other is 100 ton CNC with a 2500mm length.

"It's a very important part of our business in Chennai," says Mr Raju“We use this machine all the day".

There are many advantages to having hydraulic press brake over mechanical ones. A mechanical press brake has a spring loaded trigger. With those, once you hit the trigger, it cycles. With the hydraulic press brake, on the other hand, it can be stopped anywhere if you along the stroke. This gives complete control of form. Everything is at a slower pace to the point you can visually get down right beside it and inch it down to where you want.

"I just believe that with everything from safety to quality of product, the hydraulic press brake is the best way" says Mr Depak, press brake operator .

Different Bends and Different Dies

The dies used at Raju's workshop are V-groove forming dies. They are changeable tooling that can be exchanged for different purpose .For example, a ribbed die is used to make a formed stair pan. Because the part demands three main bends in one hit, the die was set up on the 400 ton machine.

"We can make these today, and make something completely different tomorrow on the same machine since we use different tools for different products" says Raju.

Precision Controller
The controller is very important to press brake machine, it is just like a CPU to PC.We choose Delem from Holland to be our controller supplier. It will make our machine become smart since it can be program and save multiple work steps.High precision and high speed is also the highlight.
Now we simply summary some features of these controllers.
