The current environment and surroundings in which we are living, is going through tough times. Due to the ever increasing globalization and the depletion of natural reserves, we are facing a shortage of sustainable products. And, it is getting worse and worse with each passing day. So, the need of the hour is to think about it and make serious efforts to provide food, water, medicine, shelter and education to the deprived section of the society as well as to protect endangered animals and preserve the habitat. United Nations has adopted a set of 17 goals known as sustainable development goals whose primary aim is to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all living beings. This was adopted in the year 2015 and the specific targets of each goal need to be achieved in the next 15 years.

The basic concept of the sustainable development is to carry out a development process that meets the needs of the present world, without compromising on the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. As mentioned above, natural resources like fossil fuels are finishing off at a rapid rate. These fuels comprise of petrol, diesel and other constituents that cater to the energy requirements of the majority of operations worldwide. So, the initial step taken in the sustainable development programs is to reduce dependency on such resources and make use of renewable sources of energy. However, the aim of sustainable development is not limited just to save the environment, but to benefit the mankind overall. The sustainable development goals adopted by United Nations are as follows:

1. No Poverty
2. Zero Hunger
3. Good Health and Well-being
4. Quality Education
5. Gender Equality
6. Clean Water and Sanitation
7. Affordable and Clean Energy
8. Decent Work and Economic Growth
9. Industry Innovation and Infrastructure
10. Reduced Inequalities
11. Sustainable Cities and Communities
12. Responsible Consumption and Production
13. Climate Action
14. Life Below Water
15. Life on Land
16. Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
17. Partnerships for the Goals

Many companies have started thinking to achieve these goals through different techniques. One of the ways is through global sustainable development games where the players will go on quests to find cybercaches, collect heroic treasures and defeat defilers. Completed quests will result in donations that will help the society.

If you wish to play these sustainability games for social impact, you can get in touch with a company providing them. Upon exploring the internet, you will find many of them making serious efforts to help the mankind through cyber games.
