To find out the best place to put your piano, you should know which places are not suitable for putting the piano.

Environmental and Climatic Conditions

Environment and the climate play the most important role in deciding the location of the piano. The piano should be kept in a room which has the same temperature during the day and night. Pianos don’t like to be in the room which doesn’t have a constant temperature. The piano should not be placed in the rooms which have humid environment during summer. It is best if you keep your piano in the room which is warm during winter and are not very hot during summer. The room where the piano is kept should have temperature ranges from 65-70 Fahrenheit and level of humidity should be around 45 to 60 percent. You can simply check it with the help of humidifier gauge.

Central Heating

The worst thing for piano is the central heating system. Pianos are used for a long time and are tuned in much better way before central heating. Most of the parts of the piano are of wood and it is the main reason that central heating is harmful to your piano, as it dries the air and takes away the moisture from the woods of your piano. The level of humidity rises during the night when the temperature drops down and the heating is off whereas it drops during the morning when the temperature increases. These changes make the wood to shrink and expand which worsen the quality of the tuning of your piano.

Pianos Should Not Be Kept Near Kitchen

The piano should be placed away from the kitchen as they absorb the steam which comes from cooking, which raises the humidity level. This results in giving rise to many problems such as felts expansion, swelling of key lead, rusting of string and bridge pins. There are chances of getting problems even if your piano is placed away from such place, so it’s better if you fit humidifier inside your piano and which causes some moisture into the wood of piano.

Best Place to Put Pian

It’s nice if you are lucky enough to have a music room else you can also put your piano in the dining room as they have a constant level of humidity and low temperature in comparison to the other rooms.
