Cocopeat - a Multipurpose Growing Medium

Hydroponics is the agricultural sector under which plants grow in soil. The coco peat is widely used as a growth medium in hydroponics. Many manufacturers produce Coco peat, which is also known as coir pith, coconut husk taken from coconut trees, further they are converted into coco peat and then supplied in the form of various sizes of bricks, propagation bags, and plates. The Hydroponics is used to grow the plants in less area and by using less water.

Coco peat is used as a soil preservative. It is ideal for plant growth. It is also used in horticulture and agricultural applications.

The cocoa mud is porous and is not easy to overuse. It has high porosity, high water retention capacity, the ideal growth medium for plant crops, 100% organic and environmentally friendly, soil-free pathogens and weeds.

Trichoderma is a naturally occurring fungus in coconut mud; it is symbiotic with plant roots to protect them from pathogenic fungi such as Pythium. Pasteurized coconut mud does not experience the growth of Pythium. In the case of sterile coconut mud, fungi are not present due to sterilization. Which contains native Trichoderma is used as a biological agent for injurious pathogens. It provides a good environment for beneficial fungi and bacterial growth

The coco peat increases the absorbency of the potting mixture. This helps to grow roots and helps in keeping the soil loose. Better root growth leads to better plant growth and higher yields.

Even if the soil porosity increases, coconut mud also increases the water retention capacity of the potting mixture. This ensures that the plant has no excess water or moisture. High porosity, high water content and high exchange capacity, together, which means that the amount of coconut made peat required per plant can be much less.

The coco peat has excellent performance, making it a very tolerant hydroponic culture medium. As an organic medium, it has a high exchange capacity, can be absorbed and released as needed plant nutrients.

Coco peat is easy to wet again. Dry coconut peat is very hydrophilic and quickly absorbs water to make it easy to use. Coconut peat can be compressed to one-fifth or less of its volume, thereby reducing handling, storage and transportation costs.

Coco peat is a renewable medium for plants. It is extracted from the coconut shell. A few decades ago the waste products, now one of the key areas of India's Coir Board exit.

Coco peat can be converted into various shapes and sizes to suit all increasing applications. The coconut mud mix coconut piece provides all the advantages of coconut mud while increasing the drainage of the mixture.

Coco peat is consistent and uniform. It is a completely homogenous material consisting of millions of capillary microspheres that absorb and maintain the weight of water itself. Natural pH of coco peat 5.7 to 6.5, to ensure that peat has the quality to hold for a long time and release the nutrients into the solution without re-watering it.
