One of the greatest things a person can give to another is their time and heart selflessly in service of the needy. That‘s what volunteering is all about. Gracious men since ages have understood the true power of volunteering and they seem to be at loss of words praising it. It is one of the best soul filling activities that not only helps the needy but also sends a stronger message that the world still has humanity left to offer, given the chance. People with the perception that volunteers do not get anything in return are the people who don’t understand that there is not a better place that contentment can come from.

Precise advantages of volunteering are mentioned below:

Lose shyness, gain confidence – Sometimes people think twice to go out of way to help strangers in need even though they want to help. This may due to different causes but mostly because of lack in self-confidence and analyzing the return of helping. One can begin with volunteering in organizations which would help to overcome the thought of resisting to help by inducing a self-confidence and stimulate the helping tendency of the person selflessly.

Become better person– Just possessing a mere thought of helping someone in need makes the person a better individual altogether. By volunteering, the person has made a decision to be a part of a cause and help the person in need by devoting their time or energy.

Value added to resume – Companies today have recognized the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility and have incorporated CSR into their operations like never before. People with a volunteering experience are valued more by the hiring managers as volunteers are good team players with the right mindset, take an initiative, and bear responsibilities of tasks and have good communication skills. These skills are acquired being part of volunteering activities in india.

Learn social skills - A good number of today’s Indians are introverted ignoring the social life and hesitate to be a part of something. Despite possessing the will to do it, they resist to do it, because they don’t have the push. For these people, volunteering with the right people and right team is the correct push to get them out of the cages that they live in and socially be a part of a valuable cause.

Improve networking skills and build network – This is another reason why hiring managers love to hire volunteers. Companies value the individuals with bigger and more valuable network of contacts which would be beneficial to the business. Since volunteering is a social activity with lot of high profile people taking part, it is quite easy to build valuable network and develop meaningful relationships with them.

Try something new – Apart from all these advantages, volunteering is about trying something new to break the usual routine. Getting to meet new people and do new things is fun. Also, volunteering gives the opportunity for the individual to explore other areas where their skills can be used. In order for volunteering to not become a routine itself, people can switch to different activities in different places of volunteering to avoid feeling monotonous.

Ultimately, volunteering for a cause changes a person and at the way the individual looks the world. It also helps an individual to develop gratitude and gets a feeling of contentment that no job would ever provide.
