Plyometrics require acceleration, and they resemble ballistic moves. When performing plyometric push-ups, for instance, push your body up with an explosive force that actually forces your hands to leave the ground. It's OK to cheat every now and then to get all you can out of your workouts. If you need to use a bit of your body to get those last couple of reps in, it's okay. In fact, this is a great way to increase your workout volume. However, be careful not to over-use this technique. Make sure that you keep your rep speed controlled. Do not compromise your form. Eat foods rich in protein before you workout and afterwards if you want to grow muscle. An ideal amount of protein is 15 grams 30 minutes before your workout, then the same amount after your workout.
