Four Hindi Serials to Binge Watch This Weekend

Thanks to technology, we can now stream Hindi serials online wherever we may be and whenever we want. No longer are we restricted to the television sets to catch up on our favourite shows. Speaking of ‘catch up’, work can often make us miss out on quality entertainment shows. But, you can catch them on the weekend or on the way back to work. Here are four shows that you must watch.

1.    CID

The Indian detective TV show has a cult following. With a new storyline each episode for over two decades, the team of ACP Pradyuman, Senior Inspector Abhijeet and Daya along with Inspector Fredricks and Dr. Salunkhe has entertained nearly two generations. From trademark dialogues like ‘Daya Darwaza tod do’ and ‘Dal main kuch kaala hai’ to ACP’s finger movements and eye movements, without this show, Indian TV would be a lot poorer.

2.    Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

Based on journalist Taarak Mehta’s column Duniya Ne Undha Chashma, this show has enjoyed high ratings ever since it debuted on July 28, 2008. With its characters, a distinct representation of India’s secular and diverse religion and communities, the show has always tried to instil the value of goodness and harmony through comedy. Keep an eye out for Daya ben, she might break down into garba anytime. 

3.    Crime Patrol Satark

A crime reality show, you will be left wondering at the deplorable lengths humans go to once you watch an episode. And yet you will thank the show for making you aware of your surroundings. And let’s face it, Anoop Soni, that amazing and dreamy NSD alumnus, anything he says has to be taken seriously! Just don’t let young kids near the TV when the show is on. 

4.    Ek Deewaana Tha

It’s one of those rare serials which is a romance and thriller mixed into one. Read this: Sharanya wakes up after a two-year coma to amnesia. She can’t remember anything including her relationship with Vyom. But with time, love rekindles and they decide to marry. Simple enough? Not quite. What nobody knows is that a shadow follows Sharanya everywhere and looks to create obstacles. Why is the unearthly darkness following her and what does it want?
