Simple Tips To Show Up Using Lyrics For a Song

Here i will be yet again washing my dinner dishes, very few of those these days since it's BBQ season, but here it comes down - an excellent melody line pops into my head! Nothing earth shattering yet, but a flash of words, a melody line and extremely, a starting point. Therefore I dry off my soapy fingers to get my fine point gel pen and my ring bound notebook to have it all down before it flies away as fast as it came.

Then I grab my iPhone and sing the melody line into a Voice Memo. Thank heavens for my serious waterproof Otter box iPhone cover.

It is not the very first time i have been on a monotonous, cleaning oriented task and lyrics or melodies have rushed into my head. Vacuuming, washing the bathroom or washing the floors all produce similar results. My active 'monkey' brain is kept busy with a few idle task and my fun creative brain is left to wander into dugouts, valleys and airy spaces.

Cleaning or any kind of basic repetitive motion will enable the creative brain to flow. Some new-agers will say this has something related to water, being the emotional earth sign, but alas.

If you want more evidence, think about June Carter looking after your family's laundry in the washboard and picking out Johnny Cash's 'Ring of Fire'. It provides a complete new meaning to singing even though you work.

So now you're sweeping your floors in addition to ideas are beginning to flow, what now ? using them?

Well:

1) Decide on a song format. Verse-Chorus or A-A-B-A. The main reason you should do this will be to help you decide where you should put your...

2) Working title. The working title is certainly going within the Chorus or perhaps in the first/last type of your AABA song. There are some other variations of where you can put a title, but let us keep things simple for the time being. And, the reason why I say working title is really so if you wish to change things up later, you are able to.

3)Write a paragraph that describes what your song is mostly about. I am aware, this appears like a pain and it's also. However the point would be to outline where your song will probably go. The dreaded second verse lull will drastically shrink if you're able to show up with an idea for the song. Plus, it will probably keep carefully the ideas in the racetrack rather than bouncing from the guard rails and confusing the listener. No sense in starting a song speaing frankly about love in verse 1, then flower arrangements in verse 2!

This is the basic starting place now allow the ideas flow! Not only can your property be spic and span, you're going to be mentally clearer in your clean home and you will have triggered up a lot of new ideas!
