If you have ever wanted to create a juggling routine and you have some fundamental juggling skills yet are pondering what to do, well then this article is for you. You don’t have to be an amazing juggler in order to create an amazing performance, all you have to do is utilize the skills you do have and make them your own.

Drama Juggling

Drama juggling seems like something every juggler experiences when they drop while practicing, haha. But I’m talking about using the dramatic arts in order to make your juggling act have more depth and to tell a story.   Thinking of ways to tell stories through your juggling act is one of the best ways a juggler can create a unique show that adresses the human condition of life through performance.

The comic juggling act is great for Roving Entertainment and is the most common form of juggling performance for stage shows.  Making people laugh as a performer has and always will be the best way to engage with an audience during a circus or street show. It helps you to incorporate the audience into your act allowing them to become a part of the show.   Always remember whether you are doing a circus stage show or street show comedy juggling is likely to provide the best reults as long as you are listening to your audience and allowing the jokes to be on equal display with your juggling.

Melodic Juggling: or Jugglers dancing around on stage to music can be performed as jugglers that are also trained as Partner Acrobats.  be sure to choose a song that the audience is familiar with or a completely obscure song that will surprise them. Melodic juggling can implement all of the other juggling styles and also allows jugglers to be acrobats, or clowns or any other character they would like to develop.  Why you can even be a stiltwalker juggler doing chair stacking while passing to an aerialist.  anything goes in this type of juggling.

Different Things to Experiment With:

Try using different props to juggle with as well as different tempos and styles of juggling.  the props you use can have a huge effect on the final effect of your act.

Fire - can always be a crowd pleaser as a Juggler. As a Performer it’s your responsibility to make sure that nobody gets hurt including yourself.  One way to avoid anyone getting hurt is to practice to the point where the fire and performance become second nature.  you want to be able to assess any dangerous situation that may arise quickly and secure the situation without panicking.
