November 14 is the United Nations diabetes day, which aims to raise global awareness of diabetes, strengthen control of diabetes, and reduce the risk of diabetes. The average person would think that

diabetes is a "patent" for adults. How can children get diabetes? But as the standard of living has crossed the line, our children have joined the ranks of diabetics.
"Childhood diabetes" is on the rise
Related research shows that the incidence of diabetes in China is about 0.6 PPM. What? Our children suffer from diabetes at a young age? Today, we will bring you the science of diabetes knowledge.
What is child diabetes?
Diabetes is caused by a lack of insulin secretion in children caused by endocrine metabolic disease, with carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism disorder is given priority to, fasting and postprandial

hyperglycemia and diabetes.
According to different causes, children can be divided into: primary diabetes and secondary diabetes.
Primary diabetes is divided into: insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) is also called Ⅰ diabetes; Non insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) is also known as Ⅱ diabetes. Secondary diabetes:

pancreatic disease, abnormal hormone receptor, and reduced glucose tolerance.
Children with diabetes are more dependent on insulin. At present, the pediatric Ⅱ increased incidence of diabetes, decreased insulin sensitivity and insulin secretion level higher than normal.
In addition to the children's diabetes, there is a relatively rare type of diabetes - neonatal diabetes.
Neonatal diabetes is caused by a variety of causes (heterogeneous) a kind of endocrine, metabolic disorder syndrome, their common characteristic is relative or absolute lack of insulin secretion and (or)

insulin resistance in sugar metabolism disorder, to reduce the sugar tolerance, elevated blood sugar, accompanied by fat, protein, and water and electrolyte balance disorder. Neonatal diabetes is rare and

difficult to treat.
Causes of diabetes in children
Genetic factors,
Childhood diabetes is linked to genetics. If parents have diabetes, their chances of developing diabetes will increase. One of the parents had diabetes, and the incidence of the offspring was 3% ~ 7%. Both

parents are diabetic, and the incidence rate can reach 30% ~ 50%.
Excessive intake of high-calorie food, fat accumulation
Many children in the daily diet of high fat, high heat food a lot, such as chocolate, candy, butter, it would cause the excessive accumulation of body fat, become a major cause of morbidity of diabetes.

Excessive consumption of high-calorie food can also cause the disorder of endocrine metabolism of children.
Lack of exercise results in overweight and obesity
Lack of exercise is the main reason why children burn too little calories. Nowadays, many children have a heavy workload, and there are fewer opportunities for outdoor activities and exercise, so there is

a growing possibility of obesity. Once obesity occurs, the motivation to participate in exercise will decrease, making it more difficult to return to normal weight and causing a vicious cycle, which

provides a good opportunity for the occurrence of diabetes in children.
