Latest IT Innovations and Technologies that are Changing the World

From the discovery of fire to today’s supercomputers, humans have always found ways to change the world for the better. Innovation has been in high gear since the Industrial Revolution and is moving even more rapidly today, as new technologies give birth to even newer discoveries that make humankind smarter, safer, healthier, and better connected. It is incredibly inspiring to witness the development of technology, considering where it was only three decades ago. Things that were considered science fiction before are not part of everyday reality. Below are some of the latest innovations that are significantly impacting the world today:

•    Chat Bots – Chat bots or chat robots are increasingly becoming accepted as a convenient and highly useful tool of online communication across various industries and verticals and among different kinds of users. They allow better customer relations and more seamless experiences, which can be very beneficial in today’s increasingly online world.

•    Augmented reality/virtual reality technology –Augmented or virtual reality technology is advancing into a more interactive and useful tool across different settings. Today, VR goes beyond its entertainment and amusement value, as it benefits different fields such as healthcare, architecture, real estate, retail, and so much more. AR glasses are being tested by medical practitioners to help them gain better visibility into the human body, without traditional, and highly intrusive procedures.

•    Quantum computers – These technologically advanced computers use the laws and principles of quantum mechanics, thus allowing them to calculate information on a faster and broader scale. Quantum computing is different from classic binary computing (which typically works with ones and zeros) in that they have the advantage of using classic binary codes along with superimpositions of these ones and zeros. This vast computing power allows users to create more intricate models of various systems, including disease-fighting drugs and similar applications, which is simply impossible with traditional computers. Leading computer companies like IBM even believes that quantum computing can potentially be used to make better predictions of weather patterns, create impenetrable computer encryptions, and improved AI learning.

•    Wireless charging for mobile devices and home battery systems – Although a little underrated, the value and potential of wireless charging opens up great possibilities including wireless public and long-range charging, similar to Wi-Fi systems. Home battery systems on the other hand, are changing the way people consume power, making it possible to power homes completely off the grid.
