Fixing Bigger Imperfections Before Painting in Central London

Painting may seem like a straightforward task; you dip the paintbrush or roller brush into the bucket of paint then apply the colour onto the surface. However, the absence of proper prep work will result in paint that will fade, crack, or chip easily. Likewise, failure to prepare the surface for painting may result in the job looking less attractive than how you envisioned it, especially if there are imperfections such as cracks, dents, and holes. • Fill in nail holes – Prime the holes using high-quality paint primer, then let it dry before applying the actual paint. The process is known as ‘spot priming’ and the result should prevent anyone from spotting the nail holes after the paint has been applied.

With a six-inch flexible drywall blade (putty knife or joint knife), apply the joint compound on the tape, making sure to go beyond a few inches from it. Smooth it out by applying pressure and remove the excess. Let it dry, then sand it before applying a second coat of the joint compound, which you will and after it dries.
