All You Need To Know About One Stitch Facelift

It’s impossible to stop the hands of time. Your body will change, and your facial skin will start to droop. The good news is that with the advancements in medical technology, there are more surgical procedures available for reducing wrinkles and rejuvenating the skin. One procedure that you can opt for is called the one stitch face lift, which has become popular recently because it is less invasive and promises a shorter downtime. But what is one stitch face lift, really? How can this procedure reduce the effects of aging on your face? And more importantly, is it the right choice for you?

One stitch facelift defined

A one stitch lift smooths out wrinkles and aging lines on the face. The effect can be compared to putting your index fingers on your cheeks and pulling your skin upward—which, like many people, you have probably done in front of a mirror before. When done right, this quick procedure can give the same results as conventional facelift surgeries. But although it can almost instantly give you the appearance of smoother and younger looking skin, it is not a substitute for a full facelift. Results may vary in different patients.

What to expect about this procedure

The usual one stitch face lift procedure usually takes about 45 minutes. Only local anaesthetics are used and you can go home after. Stitches are made at the hairline to pull and hold the tissues together. The cosmetic surgeon identifies the targeted areas on the face and pulls strategically to produce the best appearance.

What you can do after the surgery

Perhaps what makes the one stitch lift so popular is the fact that it doesn’t involve a lot of downtime. You can go to work after a day or two. Normal walking is allowed as long as you do not bend or stoop down. You can also shower and wash your hair as long as you do not touch and rub the wounds of the surgery. It is advised that you elevate your head when sleeping by using extra pillows for at least a week in order to minimise swelling. Antibiotics and painkillers are given to patients after surgery.

Is it right for you?

To find out if a one stitch facelift is the best option for your case, sit down for a consultation with a cosmetic surgeon. He or she can talk to you about your goals and expectations, as well as look at your medical history to determine if you are a good candidate.
