In this chilling winter season a steaming cup of tea is something that everybody welcomes. Tea is widely consumed all over the world. They offer a variety of health benefits. Herbal tea needs to be appropriately brewed prior to its usage. Therefore instant tea should be avoided at any cost because it mostly contains high amount of sugar which results in only the negative effects. Popular herbal teas and their benefits are listed here-

1. Ginger tea- condition of nausea and vomiting caused by motion sickness can be relieved by ginger tea. In order to make ginger tea, take a piece of ginger root and allow it to simmer in boiling water for about 10 minutes.

2. Rooibos tea- it is mostly grown in South-Africa and is rich in anti-oxidants. It helps in curing skin diseases such as eczema. It is rich in vitamin C which reduces aging process.

3. Chamomile tea- it is commonly known for its calming effects. Health issues such as anxiety, depression and insomnia can be cured by its regular consumption. People suffering with type 2 diabetes have also shown reduction in their blood glucose and lipid levels.

4. Peppermint tea- its constituents are rich in anti bacterial, anti viral, anti cancer and anti oxidant properties. Peppermint tea is also a great comfort for people suffering with digestive problems. It also relieves spasms of esophagus, intestines and colon.

5. Hibiscus tea- it is very useful in controlling the blood pressure level. It also helps in keeping the flu-viruses at bay.
