When it comes to supply chain for food & other perishable items a big challenge is to ensure that the inventory stays fresh till reaching the buyer. However, demand is not perfectly predictable & thus come the need to store items. Storage of perishable goods & maintaining freshness is possible by using refrigerated warehouses. Outsourcing refrigerated logistics lets food companies cool a little—and focus on core competencies to best function consumers. Perishable-food shippers are peculiar about their products and supply chain partners because ultimately they function common consumer interests: those of the buyer and those of the gourmand.
