Honda presents its newest crossover vehicle with the launch of the all-new 2017 WR-V, now available across all Honda showroom dealerships in India. Featured as a sporty lifestyle vehicle, it is positioned between the hot Jazz hatch and the SUV class BR-V, measuring below 4 meters and only about 4mm longer than the popular Jazz model.

Design wise, it shares its side profile with the Jazz as well, following similar lines and details across the front fenders and doors. But the 2017 WR-V is made to look a lot beefier. The front and rear bumpers feature an angular masculine look.

Safety features have been enhanced in the new WR-V model. Buyers can expect new high tensile strength steel panels for the midsection and cabin for better collision force absorption and thicker front and rear beams to reduce damage during a crash. These new additions make the WR-V 50kg heavier than its little brother Jazz. It is also taller by 51mm and wider by 40mm, sporting a wheelbase that is 25mm wider. It features 190/60 R16s (16 inch) wheels for a real sporty look, and the increased ground clearance and better suspension makes for a smoother ride that’s perfect for the roads in India.

The new Honda WR-V comes with a 1.2 litre petrol engine or a 1.5 diesel engine, which gives it more than adequate power. The 1.2 litre petrol plant puts out 88.8 brake horsepower at 6000rpm with 110Nm of torque and a 5 speed manual transmission. It travels 17.5 km per litre of fuel, while the 1.5 diesel mill churns out a whopping 98.63 horses at 3600rpm and 200Nm of torque and comes with a 6 speed manual gearbox. It claims an efficiency of 25.5 km per litre.

The WR-V has a very spacious cabin with ample leg and head room, with the front dominated by the large windscreen. It has got great seats and a luxurious interior. The high end VX variant features are electric sunroof, 7 inch Digipad infotainment touch screen with satellite navigation, USB, Bluetooth and HDMI connections with built in Wi-Fi support. The diesel variant also features smart key entry, a Start/Stop button, and feature ABS, EBD, and dual front Airbags as standard across diesel and petrol models. The Honda WR-V is priced at 7.75 lakh to 8.79 lakh for the petrol and diesel S MT models, and 8.99 lakh to 9.99 lakh for the high end petrol and diesel VX MT variants.
