1. La Aurora Cigar Factory

If you’re interested in cigars, how they’re made, where the tobacco comes from, and the history behind them, is a great place to visit. Take a tour and learn all about one of the first cigar factories ever to be built in the Dominican Republic. This one began in the early 1900s and is still going strong today. You may even get to taste some of their excellent cigars!

2. Teleferico Puerto Plata Cable Car

You can’t come to Puerto Plata and not take the cable car to the top of the mountain Isabel de Torres. It offers amazing views that you just can’t see anywhere else. The Teleferico Puerto Plata Cable Car is a unique experience that you’ll never forget. There’s also a lot to do up there including walking nature trails, shopping, and even grabbing a bite to eat.

3. Zona Colonial

Zona Colonial, or the Colonial Zone, is the historic center of Santo Domingo. It has gorgeous cobblestone streets, amazing architecture, and plenty of history. Take a walking tour or check out restaurants, museums, monuments, cathedrals, and many other historic buildings. Take pictures or just sit and people-watch in this amazing historic district.

4. Ocean World Adventure Park

Do you love marine animals? Then you’ll definitely want to head over to Ocean World Adventure Park. Here you can feed dolphins, check out sharks, pet stingrays, and look at the tropical fish and other wildlife native to the tropical islands. There is so much to do that you are certain to not only have a great time but to want to come back anytime you visit the Dominican Republic!
