Software auditing is an independent examination of a software product or processes to assess compliance with specifications, standards, contractual agreements. Software auditing process are conducted for the purpose of making sure the business’ software is properly working, meeting standard criteria, and legal. If any company’s software meets in standard criteria, that means it has been verified that sufficient licenses have been obtained to cover the software that business is using.

Auditing software is also usually designed to speed auditing processes within an organization. Finally install and run a report from a tool and establish the updated compliance figures. So software audit is important because it is a cost-saving method for you to remove software you no longer use, and it can help you identify which programs you will need to reclaim in the future.
