Single Space: ways to separate it

Separating a single space can give a lot of style and completely renew your entire house. For example, a room can be divided into a living room, a dining are, a lounge and your office, a bedroom and an office, your lounge and entrance way too and so on. You do not have to have a huge house in order to do it, since splitting a place into two smaller parts can make it make your house look bigger and functional. In a big house, the chaos that goes along with all our stuff can be ignored, but in a small apartment or even a studio, it can quickly look way more untied. And without realizing it, your house is an area with hundreds of little things that have nowhere to be hidden and no right area to be placed. So, it the division is essential in a small house. Let’s find out the most common ways of separating.

A dividing wall can act as a filter that defines different areas in the same space. The sense of a combined area is preserved, while the concept of separation of individual rooms is also clear. There is a sense of transparency, but at the same time there is the concept of visual fence. The concept of visual division can be highlighted even more when it is combined with the creation of storing space.

The use of a thick glass surface defines the place of movement into the area and gives a modern style without losing the transparency and lighting.

Sliding or rotating panels are one of the modern design trends. It is a highly flexible choice, as they allow the renovation of enclosed spaces into open or the opposite if needed. They have the privileges that they can provide you with a total sense of privacy, depending on the level of transparency you choose.

A great choice is also using fabrics. They form a slim boundary, they do not take a lot of space and are therefore not "visually heavy", and while you can also adjust the level of transparency you are seeking and choose from a wide color variety.

An easy but smart choice is with a simple rearrangement of your furniture. You will be surprised at how different a room seems to be if the furniture moves properly. You can change your bed’s position and using the library as a divider. You can place it vertically in the area and create two separate rooms: one for your bed’s place and the other having your armchair, a steel pendant lamp and your own books. It is going to become your favorite spot in the house!

When you live in a small house, you should never forget that the less you have, the greater your space will seem. Do not fill it with various small furniture and items. Keep the absolutely necessary, decorate them with unique pieces that you love and leave the surfaces light. Any unnecessary - whether it's a non-used garment, some reusable bags, or a wine bottle base - you do not use, should be immediately removed from the area. Get rid of things that stay dusty without touching them at least twice a year. A very good idea is to donate them so that you can separate them more easily.

If your space is tiny and a bit of a trouble for you, then you should also create storage space wherever you can. Choose a bed with high legs and bottom boxes or large drawers. If the cupboards in your kitchen do not extend to the roof, use the top side as a shelf. There are a lot of ways of transforming your house into a home. Just be creative!
