Four Effective Ways To Use Banner Stands Outside Of Your Trade Show Booth

Banner stands offer a terrific alternative to a single-panel backwall for your tradeshow booth. They're lightweight, portable, so easy to set up that one person can do it in just a couple of minutes, and it's easy and economical to update their graphics. They range from simple but elegant rectangles to eye-catching styles like dual-layered banners with sculpted front banners. You can use them to call attention to certain products or lines, or to build awareness of your brand and core message. Many exhibitors don't think beyond the bounds of their booth, though. Banner stands are also a powerful tool to attract traffic to your booth. They can be used indoors or out, alone, or in groupings, so you have a lot of options available to you.

Four Effective Uses For Banner Stands

  • Stake Out The Food And Drink – Most people at a trade show will repeatedly visit the places where food, water, and coffee are served. Some will bring their own food and water, but since there's really no substitute for good, fresh coffee, if you have to choose, go with the coffee. Coffee drinkers are the majority and most will drink at least two cups a day, so if your banner stand is sitting where they'll see it while standing in line, that's quite a lot of exposure to your message.

  • Put Them On The Patio – Nearly every convention venuewill have some kind of outdoor seating area for people to eat lunch in peace, return phone calls, or just relax for a few minutes. Many will also have a smoking patio. These are places where people will stay put for a little while, and there's a lot less distraction here, so it's a good place to introduce them to your message and visual branding. That way, when they find your booth on the floor, they're more likely to find it familiar and come engage with you.

  • That One Place Absolutely Everyone Will Go – Even someone who doesn't smoke or drink coffee, hates fresh air and sunshine, and brought their own food and water will have to visit the restroom during the show. Place banner stands in the hallway across from the restrooms, or on the way to the restrooms. At some point, everyone at the show will see them.

  • Use Them For News – Banner stands make great places to alert attendees of what's happening in your booth. If your celebrity spokesperson is making an appearance, you're hosting a special product demo or giveaway, or unveiling a new product, use your banner stands to tell people when it's happening and where to find you.

Different conventions and venues have different policies about using banner stands outside booths, so be sure to check with InterGlobal Exhibits or the vendor liaison for each specific trade show to learn what spaces you are allowed to use and how much it may cost to use that space.
