What can be Integrated?

Implementation of the IMS involves the following three standard to combines altogether and form an IMS.

•   ISO 9001 (quality)

•   OHSAS 18001 (health & safety)

The basic advantage of having the three standards implemented with the single managements system delivers many advantages to the organization including:

•   All documents involve a single document control

•   Records are maintained for all three

•   Training, competence, and awareness are the three requirements of all the three standards for achieving compliance with the international standard

•   Internal auditing would be performed for one managements system prevailing in the organization

•   Continual improvement demanded in each of the standards

•   Corrective and preventive action required in all

•   Implementation and creating awareness for the standards required in all

Avoiding duplication with each of the systems will lead to saving time, manual effort and money as involved in each of the standard separately. The implementation of the three standards integrating into a single management system will reduce the redundancy of the standard.

IMS can be formed by integrating the two or more than two standard   that includes Quality (QMS), Environmental (EMS), and Safety (OHS) management systems.
