Posted by Alan Bruce on February 28th, 2018

Each wine making area in the globe has its own jargons and language. France has wine lingos which Hungary does not, the US has wine lingos which Australia does not, & Italy has wine lingos which Germany does not. To the matter of fact, in the whole wine globe, the only term which might surpass nations is the word translated to imply, ‘More’.

Greece, such as the above regions, moreover has its contribution to wine jive, i.e. forgive me, Greek to a lot of us. For people that are not travelers, this might look like no great deal. Nevertheless, for those that are planning to get in an aeroplane & bask in the Balkans, being rather versed in terms of winery would be resourceful. So, let us discuss wine glossary below:

Archondiko: Today, in case I were to guess, I will mention that Archondiko is some type of anchovy seasoned wine. Turns out, I am not right (sorry to dishearten you). Chateau only means Archondiko, which is a house situated in a vineyard. In Greece, the term Archondiko could be located on bottles of Topikos Oneos Wines, nation wines typically made with numerous types of grape.

Epitrapezios Oenos: This is one of the Greece’s more plain wines, such as a wine obtaining by on just the requirements of life (grapes, aging, oak casks, & fundamental cable). These wines are basically the table wines of the Greek nation.

Krater: In the past, a Krater was basically a pottery bowl created up of bronze which held wine. First, wine was poured into a Krater then it was consumed.

Monastiri: A term implying “Monastery”, this term at times appears over the labels of Topikos Oenos. This is based over the info that there are a lot of monasteries of Greece, well known for making wine. In the respect of nuns, it is just good to get into the tradition of consuming wines with this term.

Stefani: It is a type of grapevine training. The grapevines are educated in a manner which influences the grapes to cultivate in the center, providing them natural safeguard from the wind. In Greek, this term is translated to imply crown.

Visiting Greece is a great experience; sampling the wine would just complex this. A glass of Archarnes which is basically a red wine or a glass of Visanto which is basically white wine is certain to be awesome.
