New Game Soul Calibur 6 Reveal Trailer Unveiled at GameSprite

There’s plenty of other inventory slots to back it up with different armours and so on. Also, I point to the likes of the dearly-departed City of Heroes as proof that when it’s done well, and with sufficient scope for customisation, Soul Calibur ,you can easily get through a whole MMO without so much as changing powers, or even clothes. Though you will stink.

GameSprite’s Soul Calibur 6[official site] is a 2v2 multiplayer 3D brawl-o-fighter. Don’t be put off by them calling it a “battle arena”, don’t go thinking it’s a MOBA, it’s not: it’s a game where you and a pal duff up someone else and their buddy. They’re not Heroes, Champions, or Lords, they’re Incarnates – they don’t need AI-controlled creeps to help dole out kickings.

Fun, but the Soul Calibur 6 game was vastly in favour of the all-powerful killer. So to try to balance it out, Behaviour added another three survivors to the game, all of whom are trying to flee from a location inspired by classic slasher films (such as a junkyard or a farm surrounded by cornfields), by repairing a series of generators to open a gate and make good their escape. All the while, the player-controlled killer stalks the map, following footprints left by survivors when they run, and homing in on generators as they growl and pop and light up. A survivor who is caught by a killer receives a nasty bludgeoning, before being carried over to several-meathooks where they are slowly sacrificed to an unseen, malevolent force.

It can be implemented at any time, with no limits, and brings up a short cinematic. You choose one of a number of attacks, which are countered (or not) by whatever your enemy chooses. If both players choose, say, a vertical slash, it goes to a second round. On the third round, the player who initiates the Reverse Edge delivers the damage.

There’s still no news on characters or a solid release date beyond “some time in Soul Calibur games 2018. The  features persistent items and elements that carry across multiple playthroughs.
