PoE, Can You Please also Increase Red Beast Frequency?

Posted by james bonds on March 8th, 2018

I like the league, but not because of the league mechanics. The new uniques and ascendancy reworks are keeping me entertained enough to continue playing, but the bestiary content itself feels largely irrelevant and isn't rewarding enough to allocate time to. Better to just plow through every2thing and keep doing what we did before. Also, a easy way for you to gain poe currency fast is to poe buy currency on U4GM.

Suggestions:

  • No "post-death" nets. These won't fix anything, and are a cheap (low effort) workaround that will only further highlight/aggravate the real problems.
  • People killing bestiary monsters before they can net them is purely a result of the net mechanics themselves being clunky and dangerous. This affects HC players even more than normal players, and is touched on more below.
  • Red bestiary monsters should be significantly more common, yellow ones should be slightly more common
  • This can be ignored in favor of new map mods or prophecies, as mentioned further below.
  • Capturable rare or above beasts should have a special health bar or other indicator so they can be seen in a herd before you run in and slaughter them.
  • Nets need to auto-target the best nearby enemy, based on rarity and then remaining life.
  • Additionally/alternately, there should be a setting in the Bestiary window that allows you to disable the capture of monsters that aren't Rare or above. There's nothing more frustrating and disappointing than trying to throw a net at a bestiary monster and hitting a shitty white mob instead.
  • Even if you don't do the auto-target thing, at least let us click the target we want, but make white and blue mobs untargetable (low-lit) when the target selector is active? Nets don't even need to be AoE - just make the cursor ignore garbage monsters so the good stuff still gets its full "hit box" for targeting purposes.
  • Nets need to be usable like flasks - they shouldn't interrupt combat or movement, and should be able to be thrown while attacking/casting/channeling.
  • With the changes to monster strength in maps, stopping your damage (and therefore stopping your leech and survivability) means instant death. Stopping to throw a net aggravates this.
