Five Easter Activities for Kids

Posted by storeforshopping on March 8th, 2018

Aside from Christmas and Halloween, one of the kids’ favourite holidays of the year is Easter. Families and communities gather to celebrate this holiday every spring. There are often food and games for kids to enjoy and a mass for Christians and Catholics to commemorate the holiday. If you’re hosting the Easter celebrations this year, here are five Easter activities for kids that they will surely love:

Easter Egg Hunt

Easter isn’t complete without an Easter egg hunt. You can use real or plastic eggs filled with treats or small toys that you hide around the backyard for kids to look for. To make this year’s Easter egg hunt more special, involve your kids in the making of the eggs. They can paint each egg and choose which prizes to put inside. They can also decorate the baskets which they and other kids will use during the hunt. When hiding the eggs, make sure that you put them in spots that children can access. That means no hiding eggs on tree branches and other high places.

Bunny Race

Another fun activity for an Easter party is a bunny race—which is basically a sack race but with cute bunny ears to wear. You can use potato sacks or old pillowcases for the game. The kids hop to the finish line and the first one to cross it wins.

Egg Toss

For the egg toss, you need raw eggs and two pairs per team. You can have two kids playing on each team, or you can have a parent-kid round of egg toss too. The mechanics are simple. Each player stands a few feet away. They need to toss the egg to each other without breaking it, and the last pair with an unbroken egg wins. To add a little challenge to the game, you can ask each pair to step away from each other every time they successfully toss the egg.

Easter Arts & Crafts Making

If the kids need a little break from all the physical activities, you can have them sit around a table and create Easter-themed arts and crafts. You need to supply them with materials like coloured paper, crayons, markers, popsicle sticks, scissors (with parental guidance), glitter, and glue, which you can find from The Works.

Easter Kits & Bundles Raffle

Easter kits & bundles raffle is a nice way of embracing the spirit of generosity on this holiday. You can place the name of each kid inside plastic eggs and put all the eggs in one big basket. When your Easter celebrations are almost over, gather everyone and pick the names of the winners from the basket. The Works is offering a lot of gifts that you can give away as prizes for your raffle. From books to arts and crafts to toys and games, you will find a lot of prizes that kids will love. To end the celebrations on a high note, you can also give those who didn’t win in the raffle some consolation prizes like Easter-themed cookies and cupcakes.
