Believe it or not, valet parking is such a blessing. To save yourself from the hassles of finding a parking space, you hand over your vehicle to a trusted individual and your job is done. It’s pretty common a concept in western countries, particularly in North America, due to the convenience it brings to the vehicle owner.
Though valet parking attendants cannot be seen everywhere, you may see hotels, restaurants providing these valet services to their customers. As soon as you drive in there, valet parking attendants greet you and ask you if you would like to get your car parked safely. And then, if you allow them, which people usually do, you will get your car parked safely without any hassles. Isn’t it cool?
So what does a valet parking attendant actually do? Though it may seem that a valet parking attendant has only one responsibility to park your car, it’s not always like that.

Apart from driving skills, a valet parking attendant should be able to drive multiple types of car, from manual to auto shift car. Not only that, but he also needs to have experience in parking car in a small space without damaging the car or vehicle.
Responsibilities of valet parking attendants
● They have to greet the customers or car owner and inquire pleasantly if they would allow them to park their car.
● Providing customers or car owners with the valet parking fee
● Providing car owners with the receipt in exchange of handed car keys
● Parking customers car safely in a proper manner in the designated parking lot and make sure cars are properly locked before leaving.
● Use hand signals, or light to give directions to customer’s vehicle in available parking lot.
● Help customers by taking them to the parking space in case they forge the area
● Take receipts from the car owners and take their car safely to the waiting area.
● To make sure all the keys and remotes have been handed over to the car owner safely.
● Assisting car owners with the failed batteries, punctured tires, etc. if the case arises.
● To make sure that all the parking lots are clean and empty for customers.
Tough it look as if responsibility for a valet parking attendant is just to drive the car to the parking lot, it isn’t the case. There is much to it that makes valet parking attendants god-sent.
