Mallorca?s best Sunset spots

Thanks to Mallorca’s dramatic coastline, there are numerous spots from which to catch a spectacular sunset. Depending on the location of your villa in Mallorca, you may even be able to watch the sun go down from your balcony or window. Let’s take a look at some of the islands most idyllic sunset viewing spots.

Cap de Formentera Lighthouse
The views from this lighthouse are pretty impressive no matter what time you visit, but watching the sunset from this vantage point is something else entirely. On a clear day you should be able to see the whole sun dropping down into the water in front of you, unobscured by cliffs or vegetation. You will need a car to be able to get here, and is located around half an hour from Puerto Pollensa.

Mirador Ses Barques
Although it will take a fair drive from you Mallorca holiday rental to get to, the views from this hilltop lookout point will make it all worth it. You should be able to see all the way down to the Port of Soller. If you are hungry there is a nice restaurant up there with seating on different levels to catch the best view of the sunset.

Sant Elm
Directly opposite Sant Elm lies the tiny an uninhabited island of Sa Dragonera. When the sun sets, it does so directly behind the island, creating an impressive silhouette of the jagged rock formations.

Port de Soller
Although there are many loftier locations to watch the sunset than the port, if you rent a villa in Mallorca near the town, a stroll along the promenade in the golden hour before sunset is a must. The sky can change colour by the minute and watching the boats move across the water with such an impressive backdrop is quite a sight.

Sa Foradada
This is arguably one of the most famous viewpoints on the island, known for its large and holey rock. The sunsets here are spectacular, and there is a bar where you can enjoy a glass of wine and soak up the atmosphere.
