Experts and the experienced fitness trainers say that those who are encouraged by external factors have the tendency to drop out of the gym sooner or later. Those who are getting ready for a big day like their wedding, or maybe a college reunion tend to drop out of the gym once they have made it to the special day. However, those who are motivated internally tend to dedicate themselves to the cause and tend to finish what they came for as well. Therefore find the internal motivation to get up and do the workout as usual even on a bad day.

Don’t Be a Drill Instructor for Yourself

Most of those who are starting out with a workout regime tend to drop out of the gym in the first half of the year. This happens due to filing your head up with fitness goals that are unrealistic. You might plan on looking like a fitness model after your first session itself but it does not happen that way. Do know that all those fitness buffs out there whom you are inspired with have put in hours and hours of work into the workout to achieve those results. If you are planning to redefine your body from scratch you will have to find a lot of motivation and find the right exercise programs.

BabySteps Are Good

Just because you are planning to achieve a body goal fast it does not mean you have to put your body through a lot of stress. No one has to run 15 miles on the first day at the gym. When you try to do too much too quickly, you will mess up everything in your workout routine as well. Cramming a lot of workout techniques and exercise types into the first few sessions will wear you out unnecessarily and you might not even do them the right way. Do know that your muscles are like a hardened elastic and they need time to mold and get into shape. This means they need constant amounts of exercise as well.

BringYour Buddy

Finding the right amount of motivation can be difficult for some of us. You can remedy this by bringing your own workout buddy into the gym with you. It is much better if your buddy is just starting with the workout or if they are at the same milestone as you are. Go ahead and try to motivate each other since there could many a day when you do not have the energy or the right mind to get off the bed and get yourself to the gym.

Make Things Interesting

Do remember to make things interesting when it comes to finding the right workout as well. Make sure to try out new exercises and workout varieties. Target different muscle groups every day. You can have a leg day and an abs day as well.
