On May 2, HBO will air the new upcoming five-part documentary series “Being Serena” about the tennis superstar Serena Williams. The series will talk about Williams’ tennis career as well as her recent marriage with the Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and the birth of their first child Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

In the documentary, Williams has shared with the world the complication she had to go through during her first pregnancy, revealing that she almost died while giving birth to her first daughter. Afterward, the show talks about the struggles she faced during her tennis career and what makes her undefeatable in the court mentally.

In the “Being Serena” teaser that was premiered on HuffPost, Williams said “When I realized that I was pregnant I was like, ‘Oh my God. How am I going to play?’”. “I put so much pressure on myself. I want to make sure that I’m the best,” she added.

Apart from her tennis career and difficulties faced during the birth of her daughter, the show also puts some light on William’s life as a businesswoman and investor in fashion, lifestyle, technology and her contribution to the society

“HBO is honored to work with Serena Williams on such a personal project,” said Peter Nelson who is an executive vice president of HBO Sports. “Even though she has been in the spotlight since her teenage years, Serena continues to capture the imagination.” He further stated.

With 39 Grand Slam titles and four Olympic Gold Medals, she has had a great tennis career and even had the most women’s singles match victories in Grand Slam history.
After a 13-month break from the court, she finally returned to the game last week and unfortunately had to face a loss against Naomi Osaka in the first round of Miami open. In a statement, she said,” Every tournament is an opportunity for me to understand better the areas I need to improve to be my best. Naomi played a great match, and I learn something each time I play. I look forward to continuing my return by progressing every day. I’m so grateful for my fans who continue to support me every step of this incredible journey.”

Through her one of the statement in the documentary, we can say that clearly, she is not planning to leave the tennis soon enough. She said “I don’t know if there’s anything left for me in tennis,” she says in the documentary. “But I’m not done yet.”
