Strategies and Slots Tips

It is thought that slots machines do not have any strategy in their gaming.  Certainly, there is a certain amount of luck involved in playing on slot machines. But all is not negative, there are some tips that a player can use to give them the edge.

To understand slot machines you need to realize that they all work on numbers. Once the reels have been spun, the outcome will be the numbers the machine generates at the precise moment you hit the button or pull the reel, depending on whether you are at a land based casino or online. Your timing of the pull or push of the button determines what will pop up, thus the normal slot tips will not have any deciding moment on the out come whether you win or lose.

To win is not decided whether you pull the reels or push the button faster or slower. Or the numbers of coins you play each time you push or pull.

Look for the best paying machines, this means you should look for the machines that payout more often, find machines that pay consistently 95 to 99 percent of the time.

Look for non-progressive machines they payout higher than progressive machines.

In a land based casino look for the loose machines. These are the machines that tend to be big winners.  The casinos have certain machines that pay out more than other machines; these are machine that you see customers winning more often. You will find these machines located on elevated levels, near the cash booths, and near food courts or snack stops.

Remember to use your players card, why miss out on the incentives the casino offers its players,  the players card allows you to get lodgings, be able to see shows, and some even give cash back, using the card does not affect your game play.

On progressive machines, play the full coin, the progressive jackpot is only paid out on max bet. Don?t play on these machines unless you want to lose more than you win and lose out on the progressive jackpot.

Its easy to check the denomination of coin the machines takes by looking at the slot candles.  The candles are the lights usually at the top of the machine, the bottom light is the one that tells you the denomination:  Blue is for dollars, Yellow for quarters and Nickels are red.

When you hit a jackpot that is over $1,200 the casino gives you a W2-G which indicates that your winnings are reported to the IRS.  Thus it's important to keep a log of your losses and wins; you will be able to offset the losses against your winnings when it comes to time to do your taxes.

Bet only what you can afford to lose. This tip cannot be stressed enough.  Bring to the casino just the amount you are prepared to lose. Don't withdraw more money from the ATMS when you are on a losing streak it's not likely to get better.

Don?t forget to take all your coins or your voucher to the cashier and cash it in.  Vouchers have an expiry date. Do this before leaving the casino. In fact make it a policy to do it now not later.
