Physical Therapy of Chiropractor

After you met with an accident or done some strenuous physical work, your muscles may experience some sort of pains, and because of jerks, correct alignment of your joints can get disturbed. This can occur because of a muscle spasm or impact. Physical therapy for the problem can be only received when you see a chiropractor. Your chiropractor not only helps in getting relieved from the pain but he also helps in increasing your range of motion. It is worth mentioning here that he will not fix your problem immediately, though the patient may experience relief in pain from the very first session.

Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) is usually used by the chiropractor to decrease inflammation, increase blood circulation or to treat a painful section of the body. Application of this may vary depending on the problematic area.

Please note that electrical muscle stimulation is different from the Tens Units, which is used by the individuals at home for the purpose of electrically stimulating the muscles. These tens units do relieve pain to a certain extent but are very much different from the machine used by the chiropractor physical therapy.

Electrical muscle stimulation feels a little spiky and so, it makes the people feel uncomfortable. Despite its odd feeling, this machine has helped the people in getting relieved from the pain.

Mechanical traction can be done by chiropractor physical therapy by using different types of tables. Let us understand this with the help of an example; traction table can be used for stretching the low back with herniated or deteriorated discs and the accompanying pain. The extra space created between the vertebrae allows better blood circulation and re-hydration of an inflamed, swollen disc that has extended out from its normal position.

In several cases, it has been seen that a painful slipped disc has regained its original position with proper healing. If it doesn't happen, the inflammation and pain can still be relieved with chiropractic treatment.

A chiropractor can advise you the correct body posture and movement habits which you can implement in your life in order to avoid muscle spasms and pain. He will describe you the correct body posture of sleeping, walking, and sitting at home or at the office that can be beneficial for you in every sense. A little information and physical therapy can make a big difference in your overall well being.

If you want, your chiropractor can also teach you the right way to do stretching, resting, or icing at home after an accident. Always clear your concerns when you are in a doubt.
