Water Leak Detection- Instruments and Technologies Used For Detecting Leaks

The electronic alarms that are used to discover water leaks are called as water leak detection instruments.  They are positioned particularly at those places where the chances of leak detection can be high such as near the dishwasher or under the toilet tanks. Similarly for detecting the water leak sin enclosed pipes, leak detection technology is used.  There are a lot of technicians that can help detecting the water leak and if the leak identified is small, they can repair it immediately before it can cause a massive amount of damage.

When these equipments get in touch with the water, they release a very loud sound. These systems are either very easy or very complex. Before hiring any technician for water leak detection make sure that he must be aware of all kinds of modern instruments and technologies.

Generally there are three main kinds of leak detection technologies and instruments-

2. Active

3. Underground

Passive Leak Detection instruments are the devices that operate with batteries and therefore the batteries need to be charged periodically. These instruments are placed at the spots that are more prone to water leaks. Along with alarm generating system these devices have a humidity sensor. They produce very disturbing sound. When moisture sensor becomes humid then the alarm is produced. These are easy to set up and are quite reasonable. If there is a break in the pipe the intensity of the sound increases.    

Active Leak Detection Instruments also consist of an alarming system which makes you aware about the presence of a leak by producing a sound. But these instruments will stop the water flow on detecting a leak. These are designed to turn off the main water supply when the alarm sounds. These instruments are further divided into two categories- individual and whole appliance system. Individual active instruments detect the leaks from a particular appliance and whole active instruments consist of a lot of moisture sensors.  

Underground leak detection systems are designed to notice underground leaks. These instruments use developed and polished microphones to detect the leaks through sounds.
