ISO is the International Organization for Standardization –an authoritative organization formed with a consortium of representatives of standard organizations of various nations. It was established on 23 February 1947 and its headquarter is located in Geneva, Switzerland. The ISO develops various international standards for various disciplines.

More than 10 million organizations are certified in ISO 9001 in 170 countries. The first meeting of the International Organization for Standardization took place in London on 14 October 1946.There are 162 members in the ISO and have published 19,500 international standards in various disciplines, so far.

When an organization wishes to apply for ISO certification for any of its services or products discipline, it has to conform to the requirements of these relevant standards and it helps in benchmarking with the international norms thus enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the systems in a continued basis. With the certification in its place, the markets also gain significant confidence in these organization’s products and services.

ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001and ISO 45001 (previously known as OHSAS 18001:2007) are the most popular standards and they are applicable to any organization regardless of its size, type, and activities.

Every organization and company are different from each other in terms of their approach, the systems and they deal with different product and services.Likewise, for some different products categories, different ISO Certifications are published. For Example ISO 9001:2015 is for the Quality management system, ISO 14001:2015 is for the Environmental management system, ISO 45001:2018 is for Occupational health and safety management system etc.

The small organization sometimes get confused between different ISO Certification so they search for advisors or consultants. Actually, it is an intelligent move they take, as such advisors or consultants are experienced and they know what documents are needed and how to apply. If you wish to apply for ISO Certification then you can just search on Google for advisors with the name of your city or country. for example if you want to ISO 9001 and you are in Mumbai then search ISO Consultants in Mumbai you will find lots of companies but always try to choose perfect and experienced company.
