Most of us know very well that finding the perfect concealer is no easy feat. Before buying a concealer there are multiple things to keep in mind such as your skin type, preferences and primary concerns etc. Dry skin, oily skin, and healthy skin are the most common types of skin. Most of the people use concealer to cover up dark circles, blemishes, redness and broken blood vessels.

An excellent performing concealer is arguably one of the essential tools in your makeup and it is not expensive at all. There are so many details that can make concealer right or wrong for you. Concealers are available in many shades, shapes, and sizes and, the most common forms that concealer takes is stick, liquid and cream concealer.

Stick Concealers–These are intensely pigmented with a thick texture and re good if you want maximum coverage. Stick Concealers are not recommended for oily skin because their feel makes them more likely to clog pores. But, these can easily be used for covering dark circles and pigmentation issues.

Liquid Concealer–For general use, liquid concealersare the best. You can build multiple layers until you have desired effect. Liquid concealers are the best for those who have blemishes problem because they tend to blend into your skin and this can draw attention to a blemish. Also, liquid concealers are best for wrinkled skin because the liquid dries and doesn’t pour into the creases like stick concealers and creams.

Cream Concealers–These come in small pots and often recommended for high-coverage needs. Cream concealers are best for discoloration and dark circles under the eyes. For blemishes, these are not recommended at all because these concealers will sit on the top of the skin and draw attention to the defect. Those who don’t use foundation can use cream concealers because they are easy to blend with the rest of your skin.

Also, if you want to make your concealer more effective, there are few tricks available. Most of the people first apply the foundation and then use concealer to maintain the potency and the effectiveness of the concealer and to keep it from getting brushed away.Instead of rubbing or wiping concealer, it is recommended to pat it. This will prevent your skin from pulling that cause premature aging.

Generally, it is also recommended to purchase the concealer that is slightly lighter than your skin tone because it will maximize the effectiveness of its coverage abilities. There are some pigmented concealers available that may help you correct skin issues.
