High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) capacitors are used in HVDC power transmission systems and converters. HVDC series capacitors are being primarily used in Capacitor-Commutated Converter (CCC) in which the series capacitors partly counterbalances the commutating inductance of the capacitor commutated converter and prevents fault currents.
