Post Surgery and Results Hybrid hair transplant

The Hybrid technique allows the maximum possible in a hair transplant surgery. With this, we were able to reach a number of units of a gigaton with 3000 to 4000 follicular units. It is an association of the techniques of conventional transplantation and FUE in the same surgical act. Since transplanted hair remains definite, there is again in scale in this technique, since doing more than once, the patient will require fewer procedures throughout his life. This is deemed to be the best baldness treatment in Pakistan.

We know that the isolated conventional technique allows a greater yield of follicles than the isolated FUE technique, but the conventional technique has a limitation a maximum width that can be safely removed in order to avoid wide postoperative scars. Usually, we avoid strips wider than 1.8 cm in the posterior (occipital) area of the donor area and 1 cm in the lateral regions of the donor area. Doing so we get from 2000 to 3000 follicular units, as we know that follicular units have 1 to 4 wire / each, we will have from 4500 to 8500 wires, rotating on average 6500 to 7000 wires, which can cover an area of approximately 60-70 cm2. The duration of the entire procedure is around 6 hours.

The Hybrid hair transplant, technique is an option for more advanced cases of alopecia. In this technique, we started the surgery with the removal of the donor area (FUT), and after the removal of the threads around the sutured area, with punches of 8 to 9 mm in diameter (FUE) and sparing an area just below of the scar ("untouched area"), which can be used for future surgeries. With the combination of techniques we increase the number of follicular units and thus we can cover a larger receiving area. The postoperative period requires the same care and the patients present even less discomfort because the small incisions of the FUE leave the scar less tense.

The evolution is similar in all hair transplant techniques. Usually, the coticules that fix the wires fall in 5 to 7 days and wires grow a little. The appearance is already socially good after 5 days.  After this, the transplanted follicles will fall from 15 to 30 days after surgery, returning to be born after 3 months. As hair grows on average 1 cm/month, we reach the end result of the surgery in 6 months to 1 year after the same.
