Chiropractic therapy for relieving Neuromuscular problems non-invasively

It is surprising how our entire body is controlled by our brain and it is even more astonishing to see how intricate the nerves that connect our brain to the rest of the body are. Nerves from each and every part of our body carry different sensations to our brain but not directly. At first the travel towards and then through the spinal cord, where they form distinct tracts, which, when subjected to injury or compression can lead to severe functional defects – loss of sensation, pain, gross motor disabilities being some of them.

So who is a chiropractor?

Chiropractic is considered to be a complementary medicine branch while a chiropractor is like a doctor, but focuses mostly on diagnosing and treating Neuro-muscular defects non-invasively by manual adjustment and/or manipulation of the spine. Their emphasis is mostly on the structural abnormalities in spine rather than functional or biochemical defects and a chiropractor will try to fix your spine related problems by manually readjusting your spine.

What conditions can be prevented or treated with chiropractic techniques?

  • Sciatica: it is statistically more effective and ha higher success rates than physical therapy and steroid injections.
  • Lower back and Neck pain: The patients opting for chiropractic therapy recover faster in terms of pain relief and reversal of functional disability than who undergo physical therapy.
  • Headaches: in a controlled study group, it was observed that 90% people with migraine had lesser number of migraine attacks and about 50% people experienced pain of lesser intensity after receiving chiropractic therapy.
  • Neurological defects: Chiropractic therapy increases cerebral spinal fluid and blood flow are markedly increased. It also prevents cerebellar coning and helps to correct vertebral subluxation, which reduces a subject’s susceptibility to epileptic seizures.
  • Hypertension: upper cervical chiropractic adjustments have effects like anti-hypertensive drugs on your blood pressure. In a research it was seen that subjects who underwent such therapy had 14mm Hg drop in systolic BP and 8mm Hg drop in diastolic on an average.
  • Avoid back surgery: By fixing your back manually and non-invasively in a chiropractic clinic, you can avoid undergoing invasive and high-risk surgeries for trivial structural defects.
  • Become a better athlete: some of the world’s top athletes regularly visit chiropractic clinics.
