4 Tips to Find a Wedding Venue in South Delhi

Posted by GetYourVenue on May 4th, 2018

Looking for wedding venues can be quite hectic and a time consuming exercise. Disappointment comes when the deadline is approaching and you are not sure that you are going to get the desired dates at your chosen wedding venue. If you're looking for wedding venues in South Delhi, contact a professional wedding planner or a wedding venue organizer.

Avoid the Disappointment During Peak Season
or “Sahalak”

Sometimes people do make a visit to the nearest potential wedding venue and fall in love with its surroundings and ambience, but their dreams shatter, when they get to know that somebody else has already booked those dates. This frequently happens in India during sahalak or wedding “season” determined by astrologers.

The better option in this case is to call a wedding organizer on phone and let him know your wedding dates. Inform them that you have already decided the dates and they need to arrange a venue which is not booked on those dates. Make sure you do it much before the actual dates.

Explore Online Yellow Pages and Directories

You can also use a local Yellow Pages or an online directory and call them one by one before you zero in on a venue which meets both of your requirements in terms of location and availability of dates. You can also mention the number of guests you are going to invite so as to make sure that your chosen wedding venue has the required space. Once you zero in on at least one or two venues make a personal visit to those places to make sure that they meet your requirements.

For example, if you are arranging a small party with only 100 guests, there is no use to book a venue which can accommodate more than 200 or 300 guests as that would be wastage of money. You would also not want your guests to be crammed in a small space and for this you should ideally look for a venue that has sufficient space to move.

Assess Seating Plan

You should also ask wedding venue to provide you with the sample seating plan. For that you can refer to the previous pictures taken during meals to see how seats were arranged.  Also check if these are round tables, oval shaped tables or the old style long rectangular tables.  How many seats can be placed around each table? Space between the tables is also important, so you should also have a fair idea of how the setup would look like on your big day. The main idea here is to keep everyone happy.

 Be Prepared to Handle Crowds

A similar exercise can be done for the reception party as well. You should check how many guests can be accommodated in the given space. Don't assume that guests will come in chunks and everything would be handled easily. It does not always happen because sometimes people end up descending on your wedding simultaneously and then everybody is squeezed in. After two three hours the party is over and none is left.
