Blizzard Entertainment announced that, under a week after it launched its berpopular World of Warcraft in China, the experience's worldwide subscriber base has surpassed two million.
The figure marks an expansion of over 500,000 Outland Gold subscribers since mid-March, when World of Warcraft is the fastest-growing MMORPG in North America, Europe, Korea, and Oceania. China contributed a lot more subscribers, with anticipation for WoW was extremely high from the country. That enthusiasm hasn't diminished now which the game continues to be released. According to Blizzard, the beta test with the Chinese WoW localization saw 500,000 players online concurrently--roughly a similar peak-number figures for North America, Europe, and Oceania combined.
"World of Warcraft is constantly on the surpass all expectations as gamers around the earth embrace it with overwhelming support," said Blizzard president and cofounder Mike Morhaime. "We desire to thank our players because of their incredible response, so we promise to keep supporting World of Warcraft with a lot more updates and content."    Although already hugely popular, World of Warcraft recently got a new content inside the form of two battlegrounds, Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch, plus a new player-versus-player (PvP) honor system.
