How to reach CMC Hospital Vellore

CMC Hospital is at Vellore, the district head-quarters of Vellore district, Tamilnadu. The main campus of CMC Vellore is on the Ida scudder road which is two kilometres from the main bus stand.

 By Air
If you are travelling by air, take a flight to Chennai, Tamilnadu.
You may reach CMC Vellore via taxi from the airport.

Take a taxi/ bus/ suburban train from Chennai airport to Koyambedu (new bus stand of Chennai.) Take bus no.102 from Koyambedu to CMC Vellore. It’s a distance of 140 kilometres and may take three hours. You can get the bus no. 102 every 15 to 20 minutes. Or

Reach Chennai central which is the railway junction of Chennai and take a train to Katpadi.

 By Bus
Reach Chennai and you can take a bus from Koyambedu to CMC Vellore.

 

 By Train
If you are taking the broad-gauge train, get down at Katpadi junction. CMC Hospital Vellore is six kilometres from Katpadi. You have ample taxis, autos, and buses to reach CMC. Reach out to CMC helpdesk

 

Remember to reach the main campus of CMC Hospital Vellore and not peripherals at your first visit.
• For visiting the Opthalmology/ eye speciality department, take the town bus route №2 from the main CMC bus stop. If you are taking a bus from Bagayam, take the route №1 bus.
• For reaching the Mental Health Centre (MHC), take №1 or 2 town bus from the bus stop near the CMC out-gate which goes to Bagayam. CHC is near the Bagayam Police station.
• For reaching the Rehabilitation Institute, take №1 or 2 town bus from the bus stop near the CMC outgate which goes to Bagayam.

You can book online appointments and have the facilities for VISA extension. You have the option of cashless payment via CHRIS card which is your unique patient card. It is hassle free as you need not carry lot of money throughout the hospital/ various departments. You can recharge your CHRIS card via net banking and you also have easy refund facilities for it. In case you want to pay via cash, you also have ample cash counters and facility to submit DD/ Demand Draft.

There is a facility called ACCESS for cashless treatment of corporate clients. If you are referred by your company, go to the ACCESS counter, which is adjacent to the silver gate (603.)

Alpha clinics
In case you want to have an immediate consultation, CMC hospital vellore has facilities such as Alpha clinics wherein you can meet the doctor soon, though you are a new patient. You can even request to meet the doctor of your choice on non-out patient days, by paying extra charges. If the doctor of your choice is busy with a surgery or any other service, you can request for the other doctor. You can also opt for a master health check-up/ whole body check-up, via Alpha clinics.
