Tips on How to Strategize AIPMT/NEET Exam

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted annually to select students for MBBS and BDS courses in different government and private medical institutes across India. NEET replaced the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) two years back. Both NEET and AIPMT syllabus is known to be quite vast and the questions included in the test are tricky. Here are few tips to strategize your AIPMT/ NEET exam preparation and come out a winner:

Prepare an Effective Plan

The first and foremost thing you must do is to prepare a strategic plan. Keep your NEET/AIPMT syllabus handy as you prepare the plan. Since there are numerous tasks to be handled during the day, a good plan will help you manage your time efficiently.

Employ Different Study Techniques

It is suggested to study using different learning techniques. This is to say that don’t just keep reading your text aloud to learn it or don’t just keep writing. While these are effective ways of learning, it is suggested to employ different techniques of learning. You may write simultaneously as you read, listen to audio clips and view video lectures alternatively. You may even use flash cards to learn your lessons. Using different study techniques is a good way to grasp better.

Study Regularly

Many students begin with the NEET/AIPMT preparation at the right time that is when they are still in Class XI. However, they do not study regularly. They get serious about the exam only when just about a few months are left for the exam. This does not help. It is only when you study regularly with dedication will you be able to crack the exam.

Revise Your Chapters

Revision is of utmost importance. You cannot retain information well enough if you learn it just once. It is suggested to keep revising and re-revising your chapters over and over again in order to memorize them well.

Prepare Hand Written Notes

This is one thing you must not forget. NEET/AIPMT syllabus is enormous and you may be suggested to refer to different guidebooks and study material to learn different topics. Now, shuffling between books each time you sit to study can be quite a task. It is not only taxing but also a waste of time. Preparing notes does not only help learn better but also prepares a ready-reckoner to refer to during revision.

Give Mock Tests

You will never know how much you have learned until you test your knowledge. So, solve sample papers and give mock tests regularly. This way you shall be able to identify the areas you are weak in. It is also a good way to enhance your problem solving ability which in turn shall enhance your speed. 

Brush Up your Weak Areas

Once you figure out the areas you are weak in, it is time to work on them. Clarify any doubts and apprehensions related to the same and learn them thoroughly.
