JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam 2018: Everything You Need to KnowPosted by Prabha Gupta on June 3rd, 2018 The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) Puducherry has released the Admit Card/Hall Ticket of the prestigious MBBS exam for the academic year 2018-19. It is available for download from the official website from May 21 to June 3, 2018. Candidates who have registered for the upcoming entrance exam can download this document @ www.jipmer.edu.in by entering their user ID and password. It’s important to note that the JIPMER MBBS 2018 admit card will not be dispatched by mail. Carrying the admit card to the examination center is mandatory. Candidates not having this vital document will not be entitled to sit for the exam. About JIPMER MBBS Exam: JIPMER Puducherry, one of the oldest medical institutes of the country conducts the MBBS exam for aspiring doctors wanting to pursue the undergraduate medical program in the two JIPMER campuses. Thousands of students appear for the entrance exam every year. MBBS program has a total of 200 seats, (150 in Institute’s Puducherry campus & 50 in Karaikal campus). The MBBS course in the Karaikal branch has started since November 2015. JIPMER MBBS 2018 exam date for the current session is 3rd June. The entrance will be held in 120 cities across the nation in two shifts. The timings for the morning shift is (10:00 AM to 12:30 PM) while that for the afternoon shift is (03:00 PM to 05:30 PM). JIPMER MBBS 2018 Syllabus: The exam conducting authority does not outline any specific syllabus for the entrance. The JIPMER MBBS 2018 syllabus is similar to the one prescribed by the State Boards and CBSE for Class 11th & 12th in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Logic and Quantitative Reasoning, English and Comprehension. The Pattern of JIPMER MBBS Entrance Examination: The JIPMER MBBS 2018 will be conducted in online mode. The two & half hour entrance exam will consist of 200 MCQs (200 marks). Apart from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, the exam will also have Logic & Quantitative reasoning and English Comprehension sections. Distribution of Questions:
In terms of marking, 4 marks will be given for every correct answer. Negative marking is applicable. One mark will be cut for a wrong answer. However, there won’t be any negative marking for not giving an answer. Answer Key & Result: Since the JIPMER MBBS is a computer-based test, the chances of the answer key being released are slim. The result will be announced on or before 20th June (tentative). Students who take the medical entrance exam can check their qualifying status/rank/ percentile/ scorecard from the authorised web portal after the results are declared. Counselling Sessions: Counselling for the successful candidates will be held in four sessions. The first round will run from 27-29th June, the second on July 25th and the third round will be conducted on Aug 20th. The final counselling session will be held on September 28, 2018.
