Best Things to do with your Family in the Smoky Mountains

Wilderness at the Smokies Waterpark Resort

This resort is like the Smoky Mountains' Disney World! The rooms are very spacious and include a modern stove, refrigerator, and microwave. This resort is made for family fun! It includes three waterparks, mini golf, a huge Family Entertainment Center, a candy shop, affordable room service and several restaurants and snack bars. Just reserve a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor. And you will avoid the heavy first floor foot traffic. Waterpark is included in the resort's room rate, so you'll definitely want to visit it with you children!

Go rafting on the Pigeon Forge

You can find a lot of whitewater rafting outfitters in the Smokies Mountains! There are two family trips on the Pigeon Gorge - from ages 8 and for ages 3 and up. You can do everything from walking under waterfalls to riding through a rapid while floating in the water alongside the boat to climbing into a hole in a rock in the middle of a river and shooting out the underside. I think we're going to have to take advantage of this family adventure the next time we're in the area.

Ride on a Scenic Helicopter Tour

This will definitely become the culmination of your Smoky Mountain experience! What will you choose? A quick and pretty much inexpensive loop around Sevierville and nearby Lake Douglas. Or a thousand dollar 100-mile exploration of the entire Great Smoky Mountains National Park? Look at the gorgeous mountains from the air and impress your children!

These are just a small amount of Smoky Mountains family things to do. You can explore this beautiful place over and over again. And every time you will find something new and interesting for you and your kids.
