How does the heaterless vaporizer work?

The heaterless vaporizer or HLV utilizes the principle of thermodynamics wherein its design reduces the temperature and pressure of liquid LPG. Unlike the conventional electrical vaporizer, a heaterless vaporizer, as the name suggests, eliminates the need for electrical heaters to produce heat for vaporizing the LPG.

In a conventional electrical vaporizer, the liquid LPG is passed through a hot water bath where electrical heaters are used to heat the water and maintain the temperature.Here, the liquid LPG gets vaporized by absorbing the heat from the surrounding water bath. Heaterless vaporizer, on the other hand, uses a heat exchanger to vaporize liquid LPG.

In HLVs, the required temperature and pressure are maintained by continuous and closed-loop flow of water from a storage tank. The Heaterless LPG vaporizer system is designed in such a way that it does not require an external supply of electrical power for supply of heat. The only electric supply required is for running the water pump.

The thermodynamic characteristics of volatile liquids are taken into account in the design of the heaterless vaporizers. What actually happens? The fluid is flash evaporated by throttling the flow. The fluid is passed through a pressure reducing valve and then, the drop in pressure leads to chilling.And the ambient water supplies the required heat for vaporizing the fluid.
