Digital River To Manage TERA's In-Game Commerce, Online Shop

Publisher En Masse Entertainment signed a binding agreement with Digital River allowing this company to manage in-game transactions for TERA, and set up a web-based store to guide the upcoming MMORPG's North American sales.

This global, multi-year deal will run until 2014 and definately will have Digital River caring for services like global payments, subscriptions, fraud protection, and virtual currencies. The e-commerce solutions provider is Buy Tera Items usually tasked with launching the net store for selling TERA, or The Exiled Realm of Arborea, sometime next year.

Created by En Masse Entertainment's parent company and Seoul-based developer Bluehole Studio, TERA is slated to produce in South Korea this season, as well as in North America and Europe next year. The game's standout feature is its dynamic combat system, by which players must move enemies while dodging attacks during combat, much like console action titles.

Seattle-based En Masse Entertainment says Tera XBOX Items chose Digital River as being a partner after deciding the the organization had "the most scalable solution" and offered the "powerful online plus-game features [required for its] flagship product."
